Step1 – Trial Planning Together and evaluate the project from many perspectives
including trial budgeting and analysis, understanding the type of
home you seek, the type of land, your schedule, financing, the
level to which you wish to participate, and the goals and
objectives for your home from all perspectives including time
horizons and quality of life. For example, it is important to map
out the size of your family both now and in the future.
Step 2 – Design and Plans
Once we have identified the project requirements and
constraints we work closely together in designing your home. Using
a detailed drafting and estimating system that we developed we
take the concept from the trial planning stage and turn this into
a complete set of plans.
Step 3 – Tendering
Our standing offer system secures the finest trades at the
best possible prices. All trades within a 100 mile radius are
classified in the Paragon Trades Database and each is qualified in
terms of the value they can provide our clients. Value includes
price competitiveness, quality of work, reliability, respect of
schedules, safety standards and work practices. We short-list the
highest value trades every year and negotiate agreements at
preferential terms for future projects. This ensures that only the
best trades, at the best possible prices, will be used to quote on
the construction of your new home.
Step 4 – Final Budget and Schedule
We then review the budget together, make necessary
adjustments, select trades based on the results of the tendering
process, perform final negotiations on your behalf, and
effectively lock-in the budget, the construction cycle, schedules,
statements of work – literally everything needed to proceed in
confidence.
Step 5 – Construction Once we have everything locked-in, we are ready to begin
construction per the schedule. It is only at this point that the
shovels touch the ground. At this stage, we manage the
construction site for you from A to Z including management of the
schedule, ongoing inspections, coordination of trades, municipal
inspections, workmanship standards – everything that goes into
ensuring that your home is built right, on budget, and on
schedule!

"Hey
Frank,"
"I am imagining that by now Dan (or Guy from Protech) has
told you about all the problems we had with our well AND septic
during our holiday last week. It seemed that we were cursed with
water not coming in, and then, water not going out. Anyhow, to
make a long and very frustrating story short, we are once again
indebted to Dan for rescuing us and our vacation."
"There are not too many people that you can call late Friday
night who you absolutely know are there to help you out, but as you
probably already realize, Dan is one of that rare breed. He was
just the best, getting Protech in on Saturday AND Sunday AND Tuesday
AND Thursday. And no surprise, he was ahead of us, contacting
Mickey McGuire to come in on Sunday morning to thaw out the septic
tank pipes. And did I mention that he was checking in with us and
Protech and Mickey as things were evolving?! Paragon had no
obligation to help out after the building is pretty well over and
done with but hey, Paragon (as in Dan) was right there when we
needed them. Frank, it is this service and support after sales are
over that really sets Paragon apart from the rest. As for Dan,
well, he is indeed a project manager and a friend extraordinaire.
But we already knew that."
"For the record, all the people who came from Protech
(especially Maurice who was so patient with our abyssmal french) and
Mickey McGuire himself were just wonderful and so pleasant to deal
with. All in all, their efforts and good humour saved what could
have been a disastrous week for us. Many thanks for setting us on
to good people. Consider this to be a heartfelt reference for them
as well."
"The
offer on the wine still stands and hopefully, you and Nicole will
take us up on it this spring. I recommend waiting until that
incredible deck is fully useful but we can always escape blackflies
and mosquitoes in the great screen porch, too."
"Take
care,"
